IC 2118 is a faint reflection nebula that could be an ancient supernova remnant illuminated by the nearby supergiant blue star Rigel in the constellation Orion.

Camera: SBIG STL-11000M CCD
Mount: Paramount ME on ATS portable pier
Location: Ningaloo Skies Observatory, Exmouth, Western Australia on 21 Nov 2009.
Note: More luminance data might have brought out more detail and glow in this faint reflection nebula.
