Junbesi - Taksindu (2930m asl)
Day 4 6.12.22
I was hoping the muscle soreness in my legs would be less after yesterday's shorter walk but my left glutes and quads were really sore from over-compensating for my right sided weakness.
It was a steep start across the Junbesi Khola and up to the ridge line and then a longish walk veering left looking down on the Dudh Kund Khola (river) far below us. We had our first fleeting views of Everest at Sallung followed by a long and descending walk to the river itself, crossing a giddying suspension bridge and a climb up to Ringmu for a late lunch. I was feeling quite terrible now and barely able to walk straight. The rest, ibuprofen and endone seemed to help as I was able to do the climb up to Taksindu Pass at 3071m. It was cold up here and the lone lodge remained empty of guests as we descended for 30 minutes to Taksindu, passing a beautiful monastery. We have found a comfortable homestay and quite happy to be here.
