Butressed tree to 35m.
Old leaves turn red before falling.
Leaves alternate, serrate, glabrous, to 17cm long, domatia prominent.
Flowers to 15mm, white, sometimes pinkish, autumn to winter.
Edible, spherical, blue fruit to 30mm.

Bright growth tips cover the dense crown of this tree and contribute to the marvelous patchwork quilt effect of an upland rainforest canopy as viewed from above.

Cultivation
Seeds germinate erratically, some seedlings appearing in a few weeks, others in over 12 months.
